Hyosarang Mission has served Korean-American seniors and families in Orange County since its California incorporation on August 15, 2002.
Mission
Strengthen the dignity, independence, health, learning, and community connection of Korean-American older adults — through culturally responsive education, navigation, counseling, and partnerships.
Vision
An Orange County where every Korean-American senior can understand available resources, reach essential services, and age with dignity and purpose.

Established programs build the trust and regular contact that spot barriers early. Navigation adds the follow-through.

Counseling and service guidance for older adults and caregivers.
Citizenship & English
Free citizenship prep and English classes for independence.
Health & Benefits Education
Non-clinical education and referral support.
Coram Deo Ensemble
A senior-led music and nanta team performing in the community.
Youth Identity & Hyo Contest
A writing and art competition connecting the generations.
Community & Mission Service
Nursing-home visits since 2002; missions to Ensenada, Mexico.

A path built over two decades
- 2002California nonprofit incorporated; nursing-home ministry begins.
- 2003Hyosarang Senior College opens with 65 students; federal 501(c)(3) status granted.
- 2006Free health screenings and a short-term free clinic.
- 2007Free after-school character education for elementary students.
- 2011Office moves to Buena Park; organization renamed Hyosarang Mission.
- 2013Youth identity writing and art initiative begins.
- 2017Recognized as a Presidential Volunteer Service Award certifying organization (organization-reported).
- 2020In-person classes move online; weekly instruction sustains connection.
- 2021In-person Senior College resumes.
- 2026First Bible-chronology course graduation; KSLC Navigation model designed.

An honest picture of who we are
Hyosarang Mission is a faith-rooted 501(c)(3). Our established work is senior education, culture, and care — not, historically, public benefits.
That gap is exactly why the KSLC Navigation Team is being added, and why grant-funded services run under a strict separation from religious activity.
